The British Horseracing Authority is responsible for the governance, administration and regulation of horseracing and the wider horseracing industry in Britain. It protects the integrity of British racing by ensuring participants comply with British Racing rules and by dealing appropriately and effectively with rule breaches.
The Brief
The BHA were moving to new offices in High Holborn and required a complete audio visual solution for their board room, meeting rooms, Breakout area and associated facilities around the site including remote meeting and collaboration options, digital signage and a room booking system.
The Solution
We installed a standardised collaboration solution to 4 of the meeting rooms and an expanded version with bigger displays to two larger rooms, all incorporating Teams and Bring Your Own Device systems for local and remote connections. Room scheduling was installed for all meeting spaces via touch screen panels. Satellite, Terrestrial and Internet TV feeds were added around the facility to allow visitors and staff to access racing coverage. Where feasible existing kit was incorporated into the setup for cost efficiency.
The Boardroom and Breakout areas were fitted with Biamp Audio solutions including delegate specific microphones for the Boardroom together with dual 75” displays for a more immersive experience. The Breakout area was fitted with another 75” display but in this instance on a portable mount for more flexibility. A ceiling mounted presenter facing camera was also added to facilitate organised events along with a wireless mic system.
IPTV and an 8TB server were installed to allow for recording distribution of footage and interviews from within the meeting spaces and Breakout area.
The Result
The meeting spaces now have a comprehensive but user friendly, standardised system in place for local and remote collaboration controlled from desk mounted touch pads.
On site displays can show internal or external feeds and the Breakout area can quickly and easily transform into a “Townhall” event area that can be broadcast around the site and captured to hard drive.
An intuitive, dedicated booking system allows for fluid meeting room use and a handbook for staff and guests has also been provided so that the new systems can be easily navigated.
Conclusion
The British Horse Racing Authority Headquarters is now equipped with a high end, immersive but versatile AV system well matched to the vital role that it performs.
This includes seamless collaboration between staff and guests, both on site and remotely and a fully immersive Boardroom meeting space.
The Breakout area can quickly and easily be adapted for a number of different interactive scenarios and the digital display solution feeds screens around the site with up-to-date customised content and live TV racing coverage.
